The Digital Transformation Agency (DTA) has released a new contract template to make it easier for Australian Public Service Departments and Agencies to source digital products and services.
Releasing the template, DTA said it was part of a continuing review of its policies and contracts to make sure they reflected best practice in a rapidly changing technology environment.
It said the Digital Sourcing Contract Template was the first in a suite of model contracts to make it easier for Government entities to buy digital products and services.
“The new contract replaces SourceIT Plus and is simpler and more flexible than the previous template,” DTA said.
“By using the new template, those who are buying ICT and digital products for the Government don’t have to reinvent the wheel each time.”
It said the template was designed to bring contracts into line with current industry standards, using plain English and reducing duplication in existing model contracts.
In essence it was simpler, shorter in length and more accessible to people with vision impairment
“Work is under way to update and simplify the other templates which are designed to be used when purchasing hardware, software and consultancy services,” the DTA said.
