The Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources (DISER) has launched a new public communications campaign and website to help people understand Australia’s initiatives to cut emissions and the progress that has been made.
Announcing the launch, Minister for Energy and Emissions Reduction, Angus Taylor said DISER’s Australia’s Making Positive Energy campaign highlighted a range of technologies and projects where Government, businesses and communities were investing to grow new industries and jobs across the country while reducing emissions.
“We’re committed to actively supporting practical, long-term solutions to reduce emissions, but we know Australians want to better understand our country’s track record and the tremendous efforts which are already taking place to achieve this,” Mr Taylor said.
“This campaign is about informing Australians about our strong track record and future plans to reduce our emissions, while supporting Australian jobs and maintaining prosperity,” he said.
“This includes promoting Australia as a world leader in renewables – we have the highest uptake of solar per person in the world – and celebrating Australian innovation and ingenuity to reduce emissions and support new and traditional industries.”
Mr Taylor said DISER’s new website contained detailed information and practical examples about the technologies and projects being supported across the country.
The Minister said that as part of the campaign, information would be shared across television, radio, press, digital, out-of-home and in cinemas.
