By Nick de la Hoyde, Independent 2022.
I know little about Nick de la Hoyde but the bio information that I received with this single suggests that he has achieved considerable radio coverage both here in Australia and overseas as well.
He’s already had his songs played on SiriusXM, BBC Radio 1, Kiss FM (UK, AU), and on Asia Pop, KMFM, and many others.
Going by the quality of this single I can see why.
Devotion is a classy pop song that was co-written by Nick alongside his brothers Joseph and Timothy.
It’s a lush production full of strings and brass with Nick’s filtered vocal soaring over some impressive production parameters and techniques.
The brothers recorded and produced the single as well, so it’s a family affair.
Devotion is a love song about what happens when you meet that “special” person.
Nick explains: “It’s so easy to get wrapped up in the future. Ambitiously chasing goals so hard that everything else in your life comes second.
“But then along comes a special person, who makes you open your eyes to love and the magical journey you were previously shutting out.
“Your life turns from emptiness to one of beauty.”
Nick is based in Sydney and his songs have been synced to popular TV shows, achieved international streams and the afore mentioned radio airtime.
He’s also performed in the US, supporting acts such as Post Malone and Travis Scott as well as doing the support gig for Max on his last Australian tour.
All this indicates that Nick’s star is on the rise and Devotion should help it maintain its trajectory.
