The Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment (DAWE) launched its brand-new website this week (Monday 18 October), merging its three main departmental websites into a single, unified site.
In a statement, the Department said the merge was the first stage of its multi-year web transformation project.
DAWE said all content from its agriculture.gov.au and environment.gov.au websites had been moved to the new awe.gov.au website to improve the user experience and make it easier for people to find all its information in one location.
“Temporary redirects will be in place from the old websites to the new site,” DAWE said.
“It is still important for website users to update their bookmarks and get familiar with the new navigation and layout of awe.gov.au,” it said.
“Over the next few years, further engagement with website users will ensure the content is easy to use.”
DAWE said the key outcomes of its web transformation project were enhanced functionality, the most up-to-date content and a better user experience.
The Department said archived versions of the agriculture.gov.au and environment.gov.au websites were available from the National Library of Australia.
“We want to hear from you,” it said.
“Help us understand what works and what doesn’t across our sites.
“On awe.gov.au and agriculture.gov.au, you can provide feedback at the bottom of each page.
“Just answer the question ‘Was this page helpful?’ and give as many details as you can about your experience.”
DAWE said it would use everything it learnt from user feedback to build a better service.
