Defence Housing Australia (DHA) has been recognised for excellence in reporting at the 71st annual Australasian Reporting Awards (ARA).
Chair of the ARA, Alan Colegate said the Awards were created in 1950 to help improve the standards of reporting by organisations and enable the public to better understand the purposes, activities and performance of organisations.
Mr Colegate said the DHA was one of three Best of Sector Award winners for Government organisations, taking home the Public Administration National Award.
He said the Public Administration State Award went to the Judicial Commission of NSW and the Public Administration Local Award to the City of Wanneroo, Western Australia.
He said the three Award winners were selected from among the organisations that received a Gold Award, the highest level of achievement in the ARA benchmarking system.
“Despite the challenges to running an organisation during the pandemic, the overall quality of reporting has remained outstandingly high,” Mr Colegate said.
“A record number of 70 Gold Awards demonstrates the high standard of reporting,” he said.
“Gold Awards went to entrants large and small from across the region including organisations from Malaysia, New Zealand, Hong Kong and even Russia, as well as organisations from all around Australia.”
Mr Colegate said the public sector categories for ARA Special Awards for specific areas of reporting were won by the Audit Office of New South Wales for Governance Reporting; the City of South Perth for Communication; and Watercare Services Limited for Online Reporting.
