It has completed the first phase of its ‘sea-change’ with half of the 209 guest rooms re-imagined with a fresh new look. Reflective of the hotel’s beachside location, there has been a complete re-fit of all the bathrooms, making it a perfect office retreat, self-isolation setting or an intimate wedding location. The four available packages are:
- Essential service workers package: rates from $140 for workers who may want to self-isolate after their shifts to mitigate any possibility of endangering their loved ones.
- Working from our home package: a $99 home-office offer includes day use of an ocean view room with balcony, secure undercover parking, work desk and ergonomic chair and free Wi-Fi.

- Your home-away-from-home self-isolation package: stay five nights or more with rates from $179 includes room service breakfast, 20 per cent off laundry service.
- Micro-wedding package: for couples who have had to cancel their dream day – $400 includes ceremony venue for the couple plus two witnesses and celebrant only, overnight suite accommodation, room service dinner and breakfast and overnight parking. The offer is valid until 30 June 2020. Guests must comply with current Australian Government regulations.
Guest rooms
The public spaces including the light-filled lobby and rooms were designed by local Sydney company Studioaria – specialists in hospitality, spas and luxury high density residential.
According to Kate Greenwood of Studioaria, “our goal was to make the hotel a part of Coogee’s coastal vibe”.

This is being done “by introducing a strong visual connection from the front entrance and through to reception with the new studio spaces to the Coogee beachfront. The natural finishes and light, fresh colour scheme perfectly complement the beach, surf and sky palette”.
The lobby is connected to the restaurant, bar and event spaces via a dramatic feature staircase with soft illumination which accents the crisp detailing of the bleached timbers and white painted plaster.
The guestroom design epitomises seaside chic, with a subtle colour palette that complements the blue hues of the beachside surrounds. All rooms have been fitted out with premium bedding, carpet and curtains, and a fresh new bathroom re-fit.
More improvements
Further upgrades are planned. Phase two will see bulk amenity products introduced to all the bathrooms provided by well-known brand Antipodes as the hotel moves away from single-use products to save waste. Antipodes is also certified vegan and vegetarian and is cruelty-, paraben- and MIT-free – perfect for eco-conscious guests.

An exciting new mini-bar concept will also be introduced, ready for spring 2020.
