The Australian Public Service Commission (APSC) is to launch a new national conference series to provide professional development and networking opportunities for APS staff at all levels.

The inaugural APSwide conference series will be held in every Australian capital city and Townsville between June and October this year.

The series will be supported by the Australian Government Leadership Network (AGLN).

Announcing the move, the APSC said the theme for the series will be APSwide: Positioning the APS for the Future with the one day conference program including a range of high profile representatives from the APS.

It said topics will include recruitment and mobility, bargaining, capability, employment frameworks, diversity and inclusion, and integrity.

Attendees will be able to explore the topics further at interactive workshops. Registrations will open soon.

The dates and venues for the conferences are: 28 June, Adelaide; 19 July, Melbourne; 26 July, Townsville; 9 August, Brisbane; 30 August, Darwin; 6 September, Perth; 11 September, Hobart; 27 September, Sydney; and 11 October, Canberra.

In all cases the conference agendas will include an opening keynote address, a question and answer session and interactive workshops in the morning, followed by a sponsors’ presentation and further speakers, with time for questions and answers after lunch.

There will be an hour set aside for networking after the conference closes.
