Transport for NSW (TfNSW) is warning commuters to expect further disruptions to public transport services in metropolitan and regional areas until 21 February due to protected industrial action.
The disruptions come on top of pandemic-related timetable changes, in place since 10 January, which have seen a reduction in bus, train and light-rail services to help manage staff shortages.
In a statement, TfNSW said the industrial action disruptions were expected to impact Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink Intercity and regional network customers.
The Agency urged customers to plan ahead, including parents and carers, with action “likely to impact services for the school run”.
Chief Executive of Sydney Trains, Matt Longland said customers could expect varied impacts while the industrial action was underway, however, Sydney Trains would provide as much information as possible for people to plan their journeys.
“We understand the ongoing disruptions are extremely frustrating for customers and we thank you for your patience,” Mr Longland said.
“Train services have already been impacted by COVID-related staffing shortages,” he said.
“We are working hard to limit the impact for customers and school students.”
Mr Longland said customers should visit TfNSW’s website for the latest information on services and consider alternate transport options.
