Comcare has announced a plan for major research projects that it says will help the Government to understand and anticipate changes in Australia’s working landscape.
In a statement, Comcare said it was critical to forge relationships with powerful research partners that would help the organisation to confront the challenges that lay ahead.
“After extensive consultation, Comcare has identified five priority themes to help shape our projects between now and 2022, and we’re looking for partners that are working on applied research opportunities across these themes,” the statement said.
These included enabling healthy and safe workplaces — preventing harm in workplaces, and enhancing employer capability — helping organisations to meet their work health and safety duties and obligations, and their ability to implement better-practice models to support employees.
The third theme was guiding and supporting mental health and wellbeing — building mentally healthy workplaces; and the fourth, fostering work participation — maximising prevention, retention, recovery at and return to work.
Finally, there was the theme of adapting to the future of work — responding to future work practices and environments.
“Research partners working on projects that support these themes will be assessed and prioritised according to three key factors: Potential impact, innovation and importance,” the statement said.
