In this delightful series for young girls, Clementine Rose is excited about going on the big screen. Her neighbour, Basil Hobbs, is making a documentary about Penberthy House and has given her a starring role. In book number nine, Clementine can’t wait to uncover the magic of motion pictures. Once a surprise present comes her way, Clemmie’s interest in filmmaking grows.
There have been some troubling incidents of late, leaving the hotel guests very annoyed. Even though Aunt Violet is thrilled at the prospect of fame and fortune, Lady Clarissa has other things on her mind. You’ll have to read the book to find out if Clementine Rose can use her new skills to expose the truth and restore the reputation of Penberthy House.
Jacqueline Harvey is a prolific author of children’s books and has the knack to strike just the right note with her books. The mix of excitement, mischief, adventure and humour has great appeal for the intended young age group. Each book contains much with which these readers can easily identify – even though they don’t live in a big old house or own a teacup pig!
