The Senior Manager of Facilities at the Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT), Ivan Radic has been named as the recipient of the 2019 Norm Fisher Award.
Chief Executive at CIT, Leanne Cover presented the award at the ACT training Awards ceremony last week.
Ms Cover said the award was a recognition of the outstanding and extensive contribution Mr Radic (pictured) had made as an individual to Vocational Education and Training (VET) in the ACT.
“Ivan’s innovation and excellence in the delivery and design of CIT’s facilities to support students’ training in their chosen vocation is deserving of this recognition,” Ms Cover said
“Ivan has ensured students and staff have access to the required highly specialised VET training environments at CIT for over 40 years.”
She said his contribution included the negotiation of complex contracts as well as managing the design and build of fit-for-purpose teaching spaces such as an industry standard dental clinic, the forensic crime scene investigation labs and a 100 per cent renewable energy building.
She said Mr Radic had been instrumental in placing CIT at the forefront of environmental sustainability and in meeting the evolving needs of both industry and students.
“Ivan’s dedication and leadership regarding facilities and services was one of the reasons why the Office of the ACT Commissioner for Sustainability and the Environment sought to relocate to CIT Bruce,” Ms Cover said.
