The Department of Communications and the Arts has launched a new website that supports the media classification system, aimed at helping parents and the broader community locate information about films, video games and publications quickly and easily.

In a statement, the Department said clear information on movies and video games would now be easier to find, eliminating the need to visit multiple sources that often provided conflicting advice.

“Key features of the new website include a mobile responsive design so content can be easily accessed from anywhere, and simple, intuitive navigation and search functionality for easy access to information on films and games,” the Department said.

“It will also provide quick access to the latest classification decisions with short explainer videos to help consumers make the most of classification ratings and consumer advice.”

It said a news and media centre would also be launched to help people stay up to date with media releases and updates about classification.

The new service would provide summary information on the content of new release films to help parents choose the right movies for their children.

The new website can be accessed at this PS News link.
