Cathay Pacific Airlines is increasing its direct flights from Adelaide to Hong Kong during summer.

Between November and March, this seasonal route will run three return flights a week, increasing to five a week from December to February.

From 10 November, 2026, to 27 March, 2027, flights will arrive from Hong Kong on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday nights before returning the following day.

From December to February, extra flights will arrive on Monday and Friday nights.

“Cathay Pacific has been an important and loyal airline partner of ours for well over three decades, and we’re excited to again welcome their return in November for our peak summer season,” Adelaide Airport managing director Brenton Cox said.

“We expect Cathay Pacific’s non-stop service to Hong Kong, with excellent connections to Asian and European destinations, will again prove popular for both inbound and outbound tourism, international students and our local exporters.”

Flights from Hong Kong to Adelaide will operate on the Airbus A350-900 and will have business, premium and economy classes.

This service increase marks a 50 per cent rise in peak seat capacity compared with last year.

The move will add to the state’s visitor sector, which contributes $1.7 billion to the South Australian economy.

Additional benefits include unlocked cargo space for South Australian exporters, providing access to the Asian market for South Australia’s wine, seafood and tech goods.

This route also connects South Australian businesspeople to one of Asia’s main trading hubs, and gives international students an easier link to Adelaide.

Travellers will then have access to more than 80 destinations worldwide via Cathay Pacific’s Hong Kong hub, providing easier-than-ever pathways to locations across Asia, Europe, the Middle East and North America.

Cathay Pacific regional general manager for South-East Asia and Oceania Aldric Chau said: “After seeing a strong return to Adelaide last year, we are pleased to strengthen our commitment to the city through increased flight frequencies.

“These additional services will make it easier for customers to experience Cathay Pacific’s world-class service while connecting onwards to destinations across Asia, Europe, North America and beyond.”
