The Department of Primary Industries (NSW DPI) is asking bushfire-affected landholders to report damage and losses via an online survey.
Deputy Incident Controller at NSW DPI, Karen Roberts said the online Primary Industries Natural Disaster Damage Survey recorded animal injuries and losses as well as damage to farm infrastructure from natural disasters.
“The survey acts as a single source of ‘ground truth’ information and provides landholders with information on the severity of damage in their area,” Ms Roberts said.
“It also helps NSW DPI develop a clear picture of the scale, severity, value and distribution of damage in each area, so we can target support and relief efforts as effectively as possible as we move through the recovery process,” she said.
“The survey allows primary producers to provide the number of crops, animals and infrastructure damaged as a result of the bushfires and add photos to the assessment.”
Ms Roberts said NSW DPI had launched an online Bushfire Hub to ensure primary producers had all the resources and information needed to fast-track recovery from the widespread fires that impacted properties across the state.
