Transport Canberra is to run reduced bus services from Monday (31 January) on an interim timetable that includes school services.

Announcing the move, the service said the interim bus timetable would run until further notice to ensure service reliability across the network.

“While the timetable sees a reduction in services, compared to the regular timetable, it still provides enough frequency to get people that rely on public transport where they need to be,” the Directorate said.

“Dedicated school services, including ‘S’ trips which divert into schools, will also resume at this time to coincide with the return of the school year,” it said.

“The interim bus timetable still provides a high level of frequency with all local services and the Rapid 10 running at least every 30 minutes and all other Rapids running at least every 15 minutes during the day and around every hour after 8pm during the week.”

The Directorate said some minor timing changes had been made to some school services and advised parents to check their specific school service timetable.

Transport Canberra said parents of primary school students should refer to their individual school’s pack to plan their child’s travel.

“For students in high school or college, please use the Transport Canberra journey planner to check timings,” it said.

“Just plug in your destination for the most convenient and fastest options to suit you.”

The Directorate said Monday would also see the new local bus route 47 introduced to Whitlam residents to provide better connections to both Belconnen and Denman Prospect.

It said light rail would continue to run to its normal frequency and any changes to services would be communicated to customers.
