Two-star Michelin chef Adam Jones (Cooper, A Star Is Born, American Sniper) had it all – and then lost it.
Jones had worked at one of the top restaurants in Paris that was owned by his mentor Jean-Luc. His hyper drive for excellence and drug use backfire, resulting in him losing the restaurant and the careers of some of his friends. It’s a form of penance when he disappears, sobers up and sentences himself to shucking one million oysters at a bar in New Orleans.
After that he heads for London with a plan to regain his former glory and go for this third Michelin star. In his quest for the best, he visits old colleagues.
There is precision, a hint of TLC, an aggressive element when it is comes to cooking and the thrill of creating a bang when it comes to taste. That’s paramount.
At least, that’s the way Jones sees it. He’s been sober and now is determined that his kitchen is the best in the world. No matter how he does it. Food is artistry in motion. Food is a taste sensation, but it should also be appealing to the eye.
Opening night disasters do not deter, but makes his resolve to succeed even more overpowering.
He’s heading for his 3rd Michelin star. As ‘Adam Jones at The Langham’ begins to take shape, he sets out to get the best on his side, including sous-chef Helene, (Miller).
Writers Steven Knight and Michael Kalesniko present a story that shows influences from the power of second chances, being fond of food and the love between two people.
