Father-and-son head out to have a quiet weekend together only to have the peace destroyed beyond all expectations.
When Joe Braven (Momoa, Justice League) and his father Linden (Lang, Avatar) arrive at their remote hunting cabin, their expectations are shattered. What they find is a stash of heroin, hidden in the cabin by drug traffickers. When the criminals suddenly return, Joe and his father must make a kill-or-be-killed stand for survival.
It’s an adrenalin-fuelled action-thriller, but it’s also about family. It’s not just about blowing things up and participating in shootings.
It’s also an opportunity to learn to care for a family and connect with their heartaches.
Wagner plays Joe’s wife, Stephanie, and Dillahunt plays drug-dealing bad guy, Kassen.
Joe is believable and gets genuinely emotional. If Momoa’s intention was to ‘move people’, then he does so – admirably. As he puts it: “I want them to root for my character and to see all the stuff that he has to go through and overcome, and that it’s just his heart, his passion that gets him through”.
Lang, who worked together with his son on Conan, is spontaneous, intense and susceptible. As the antagonist, Dillahunt has a formidable presence.
Join the ride as you see the cat-mouse chase unfold. That’s when the action becomes even more gripping.
