Lyndon Keane has been a passionate advocate for regional journalism his entire media career, a passion that has taken him to newsrooms across south-west Queensland and the Top End of the Northern Territory. He has returned to journalism at the helm of the Cape York Weekly after more than half a decade in communication, governance and stakeholder engagement roles in local government across regional Australia, including most recently on Cape York.
Lyndon believes an independent media voice and public interest journalism are vital to strong regional communities and, as a lifelong political junkie, is not afraid to ask the hard questions to hold politicians at all three tiers of government to account.
When he’s not chasing stories and attempting to write pun-infused headlines, Lyndon enjoys exploring the great outdoors that is Cape York, and is a fervent believer that an ordinary playlist and poor snack selection can destroy even the best road trip.
