About Chisa Hasegawa

Chisa is a cadet journalist with Cape York Weekly, based in Cairns.

After studying at university in Melbourne, she has returned to her hometown to begin her career in journalism. Having grown up in Cairns, she loves hearing from the local community and is keen to become a trusted source of information in Far North Queensland.

She is also the president of her local taiko (traditional Japanese drumming) team, and when she's not chasing stories you can find her drumming up a storm with her team at various community events.
