Made by esteemed Tasmanian winery House of Arras, House of Arras EJ Carr 2004 Late Disgorged 2004 has been named ‘Top Sparkling’ by one of the world’s leading and most influential wine publications, Decanter Magazine.

This is a real win for the Australian wine industry and in particular for Tasmania — a wine region that is gaining international recognition well above the volume of premium sparkling wine it produces.

WINE REVIEWS

Tyrrells 2019 Beside Broke Road Margaret River Dry Rosé ($20) — a blend of Margaret River shiraz, tempranillo and merlot that is a delightful pink and completely dry. It’s a great food wine and has fine mid-palate texture. Serve with pizza or drink on its own.

WINE OF THE WEEK

Arras NV Blanc de Blanc ($35) — Made purely from cool-climate chardonnay, this is definitely a creamy number made to drink on its own in a purely celebratory fashion or with lighter dishes. It’s a ripper bubbly. Well done, Ed and team, you are worth bottling.
