Queensland State Archives (QSA) has published an updated online catalogue featuring workshops, tours and talks.
The catalogue, ArchivesSearch, has been upgraded with new functions and a more modern interface.
Users can now create an account to save their searches and see the history of their record requests; add keyword tags to help make records easier to find; and filter search results.
They can also pay for digital copies online; easily see if a record is open or under a Restricted Access Period; and easily request access to restricted records.
In a statement, the QSA said first-time users were recommended to create an account.
“This will allow you to save searches, request a digital copy, and order items to be viewed at our QSA Reading Room,” the Archives said.
“However, you can search the collection without an account. If you are logged in, you can also choose to Save Search if you wish to come back to it again.”
The statement said there were two ways to navigate the QSA collection on ArchivesSearch. Using the Browse menu on the left hand side of the screen allowed users to browse through materials.
“You can also limit results by record or entity type, or date range. You can modify searches after they are performed by clicking the Modify Search button above the search results,” it said.
