The Australian and New Zealand School of Government (ANZSOG) has launched a new survey to gather information on the work habits of PS employees.
ANZSOG said the survey was part of a project examining innovation skills and capabilities within the public sector, and was a collaboration between itself, Monash Sustainable Development Institute and The Governance Lab at New York University, Tandon.
In a statement, ANZSOG said the aim was to design innovation-focused education and training programs for the public sector.
“The survey is part of a global study on the new ways Public Servants are working to solve problems,” ANZSOG said.
“The results will culminate in a report on public sector innovation.
“The survey aims to shed light on Public Service knowledge of new approaches; enable better understanding of current innovation capabilities, and inform future training programs.”
ANZSOG said the survey was open to all Federal and State Public Servants, regardless of whether or not they were familiar with key public sector innovation concepts.
It said definitions and other information was included to help participants, such as a brief definition and an example of each skill in action.
“Please note that you may be using these skills in your work but call them something different (as an example, open innovation is also known as ideation or brainstorming or crowdsourcing),” it said.
“We are interested in how you work regardless of the terminology.”
The Public Entrepreneur Skills Survey takes about 15 minutes to complete and can be accessed at the Monash University website at this PS News link.
