The Department of Social Services (DSS) has redeveloped its Family Relationships Online website, aimed at supporting Australian families when relationships become challenging.
The newly refreshed website, which is the product of a long-standing partnership between DSS and the Attorney-General’s Department, offers access to a range of services and resources, as well as information to help families understand how to resolve disputes without going to a family law court.
Attorney-General, Christian Porter said a key focus of Family Relationships Online was helping families navigate the process of managing family separations and arrangements for children and property.
Assistant Minister for Children and Families, David Gillespie said the website helped build better family relationships, even during times of stress and separation.
“Another benefit is the ‘find local help’ feature, which helps families find support services in their area,” Dr Gillespie said.
He said the website also included information about Family Relationship Centres, family mediation, and other specialist services for families and children.
“Publications and factsheets on family law services, services for children, and parenting after separation are available on the website,” Dr Gillespie said.
“The information provided, the advice and resources can play a key role in helping families dealing with relationship issues,” he said.
