It takes a split second for one’s ‘perfect’ life to be irrevocably changed. Such was the case with a hard-living salesman who became a quadriplegic.
Here is the true-life recovery story of Adam Niskar (Aaron Paul, Eye in the Sky, Whatever It Takes), a Southfield resident, who became paralysed after diving into a shallow pool of water. With the help of a cheeky Russian, he learns that life isn’t over … it has just begun.
Paul plays an alcoholic, womanising salesman who has to learn to adjust his life accordingly after his accident. The frustrated quadriplegic gets a new lease on life when he befriends an empathetic nurse, Christine (Shannon Lucio, The Perfect Guy, Dependent’s Day). It also features actors Jeff Daniels as Mickey and Tom Berenger as Jerry – and it all takes place in Detroit.
Paul has won several awards, and is best known for portraying Jesse Pinkman in the series Breaking Bad (2008–2013). After joining the cast of Breaking Bad, playing Bryan Cranston’s meth-dealing sidekick, he has begun to get well-deserved notice. His work largely consists of appearances on NYPD Blue, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, 3rd Rock From The Sun, CSI: Miami and ER. No doubt, that’s the kind of success that will hold him in good stead in the future.
