The Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) is asking operators and providers of critical infrastructure organisations to take part in a confidential survey.
In a statement, the ACSC said results from the Operational Technology Survey for Critical Infrastructure would help identify operational technologies used by the organisations.
The ACSC said the aim was to protect the essential services all Australians relied on by improving the cyber security and resilience of critical infrastructure.
“We have engaged KPMG Australia to conduct research to identify operational technology hardware and software asset types used across critical infrastructure sectors,” it said.
“This information will be treated confidentially by the ACSC and aggregated findings will be used to inform the ACSC of strategic threats as well as cyber security products.”
The Agency said by taking part in the Survey, critical infrastructure operators would assist the ACSC’s efforts to protect Australian critical infrastructure networks from cyber attacks that threatened Australia’s security, stability and prosperity.
“The tool used for this Survey is hosted in Australia, along with all Survey data and responses,” it said.
“Analysis of the results will be performed by appropriately cleared staff from KPMG and the ACSC,” the Agency said.
The deadline for the Survey is 23 October and those wishing to participate should access the KPMG Australia website at this PS News link.
