By Piper Rodrigues, MGM 2022.
Piper Rodrigues is a young singer/songwriter who attended the Country Music Association Academy and has now issued a series of country/pop crossover singles that have been very good.
Her latest release, Ain’t That Kinda Girl was co-written with Golden Guitar winner Melody Moko, and it was produced by multi–Golden Guitar winner Shane Nicholson.
The track is a sassy take on the desire to experience all the apparent fun that bad girls have but, she’s ‘not that kind of girl’.
It’s up-tempo rollicking fun with a wandering fiddle, insistent beat, snappy lyrics, memorable melody, and energetic presentation.
Each of Piper’s tracks have occupied the space that blurs the line between pop, alt-rock and country, and as such she is achieving recognition in multiple genres and charts.
She’s already toured in support of established artists such as Haley Jensen and Catherine Britt.
She was also runner-up in Today’s Country 94.1 ‘Brand New Star’ competition.
Piper’s only in her early 20’s and with these three singles she’s made a strong start on what should be a long and successful career.
She has been writing songs since her teenage years and she’s proficient on both the guitar and piano.
Apparently, there are more releases on the way so she’s definitely one to watch out for.
