Study Queensland’s Indian Education Team has helped a Queensland-based sport training and education business establish itself on the sub-continent.
Minister responsible for Study Queensland, Stirling Hinchliffe congratulated Roo Sports International and Study Queensland on taking Ready Steady Go Kids to India.
“It’s terrific to see Queenslanders putting runs on the board overseas with the help of Study Queensland,” Mr Hinchliffe said.
“Earlier this month, Roo Sports International’s scientifically designed Ready Steady Go Kids program for pre-schoolers and younger, debuted in Mumbai and Rajkot.”
He said the education and training export had been made possible by Study Queensland’s Indian business connections and local knowledge.
Ready Steady Go Kids engages one to six-year-olds in physical education training to build motor skills, teamwork and enthusiasm for lifelong participation in sport.
Programs are targeted to specific ages and include physical and social skills, confidence-building and fair play.
Roo Sports International is co-owned by two-time World Cup-winning Australian cricket coach, John Buchanan and has the master franchise rights to Ready Steady Go Kids.
A previous agreement to take the program to India stalled with the pandemic, but in July last year Study Queensland put Roo Sports in touch with emerging Indian academy, Sports Gurukul and a partnership flourished.
