Vietnamese Prime Minister, Pham Minh has decreed that the proportion of the population able to use online public services must rise from 18 per cent to 50 per cent by the end of 2023.
The Prime Minister made the announcement while chairing a meeting aimed at seeking ways to accelerate administrative procedure reform.
Mr Minh said the Public Service must simplify 59 administrative procedures between State Agencies and increase the level of satisfaction about administrative procedures among the people.
“The rate of administrative documents received and processed online via public administrative units must achieve more than 90 per cent,” Mr Minh said.
“Further, by the end of June next year, all the documents handled by Ministries and Agencies and provincial-level Administrative Agencies must be processed online.”
Meanwhile, Minister of Home Affairs, Pham Thi Thanh Tra has held talks in Paris with French Minister of Public Transformation and Service, Stanislas Guerini on future cooperation priorities between the two Ministries.
Ms Tra (pictured) said the 2016-21 cooperation program between the two countries had brought successes to public services, administrative reform and digital transformation in Vietnam.
“In the near future, my Ministry will focus on administrative reform, digital transformation and Civil Service reform in tandem with a climate change response, thus propelling green growth, Ms Tra said.
“I hope France will help Vietnam with these during 2022-25.”
Mr Guerini expressed readiness to share France’s experience in renewing the professional training of high-ranking officials, adding that his Ministry was prepared to help its Vietnamese counterpart effectively.
