The search is on for Western Australia’s most impressive Police officers for possible recognition in the 2022 Nine News WA Police Excellence Awards.
Nominations are now open for the Awards which recognise those State police officers who demonstrate exceptional dedication and service to the people of Western Australia; who uphold the core values of the WA Police Force; and Raise confidence in policing.
According to the Awards organisers it is of great important to recognise the extraordinary work being done by police officers across Western Australia.
“This is one of the most high-profile ways the community can acknowledge the fantastic work of, not only an individual police officer or team, but policing in general,” they said.
“Nominations are quick and easy, simply complete a form online.”
As an example they referred to a Community Service Announcement which appeared on channel nine in March of this year, featuring an incident that took place on the South Western Highway.
“Once the Harvey police officers were notified of an accident involving a vehicle towing a caravan, they immediately sprung into action,” they said.
Upon arriving at the scene, there was a sense of urgency as they discovered the vehicle was in flames.
“Filled with courage, determination and every intention to rescue the couple from the burning wreckage, they saved two lives,” they said.’
Probationary Constable Josemans, from Harvey Police Station said he didn’t know how they were going to come out, “but I knew that I had to find a way.”
Awards organisers said this was a true display of excellence and commitment to protecting the WA community and was heart-warming to say the least.

Nominations for the awards which must relate to the period 1 September 2021 and 24 August 2022, can be made at this PS News link before 5pm on Wednesday, 24 August.
Finalists are to be announced mid-October 2022 with the winners to be announced at Optus Stadium on Thursday 8 December.
