Two of the United Kingdom’s biggest tourism operators have been convinced to promote Perth as the ideal destination for an adventurous Aussie holiday.
The UK companies – Trailfinders and dnata – are to promote Perth as the ideal destination for an adventurous holiday in Australia.
Minister for Tourism, Roger Cook said the move was evidence of the Government’s initiative continuing to reconnect with global markets and attract international tourists back to help grow and develop the State’s tourism businesses.
According to Mr Cook, WA has many incredible visitor experiences waiting to be discovered and this latest campaign will help show visitors from the United Kingdom why WA should be at the top of their list for an overseas adventure.
“With the return of Qantas’s direct flight between Perth and London being brought forward to May, these partnerships are well-timed to capitalise on the relaunch of the route,” Mr Cook said.
“Increasing the number of visitors from overseas is one of this Government’s main priorities.”
He said that by entering arrangements like this one, WA was letting the rest of the world know it was safe and full of adventures waiting to be discovered.
Mr Cook said the new arrangement was entered on the eve of Qantas deciding to resume its direct flights from London to Perth next week (May 23) and the English Premier League matches at Optus Stadium in July.
He said UK tourists will be encouraged to fly to Perth and experience the city’s natural attractions, unique wildlife, sensational coastline and food and wine experiences.
“The marketing will also encourage travellers to head out of Perth on a road trip to discover WA’s unique regional destinations,” the Minister said.
He said Tourism WA was also working with a number of additional UK partners to increase then State’s presence in tour operator programs.
