Don Christopher and Dr Jilda Andrews promise a warm welcome
The ACT Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Arts Engagement Network (ATSICAE) is seeking new members to join its group.
Currently made up of five members, the ATSICAE network meets 4 to 6 times a year focusing on promoting the diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures through the arts.
According to the members, the network assists in the evaluation of programs and activities and is an important way to communicate with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities through community channels.
“Also, (it) provides ongoing advice to artsACT about all its activities and programs on an as-needed basis,” it says.
Potential new members are asked to provide their best contact details and a brief (one page) CV or 2–3-minute video/sound recording with a description of their experience in the arts and why they are interested.

Separately, Creative Partnerships are hosting an online Fundamentals of Arts Fundraising workshop for organisations and individuals based in Canberra on Thursday 19 May.
Organisers say the workshop is ideal for arts organisations and artists looking for the know-how, confidence and inspiration to kickstart or grow income from philanthropy, donors and business partners.
“The course will cover the opportunities and resources provided by the Australian Cultural Fund as well as outline matched funding programs provided by Creative Partnerships,” they said.
“This forthcoming workshop is ideal for Arts professionals who want to learn the basics of arts fundraising, philanthropy and sponsorship, arts professionals with some fundraising experience and knowledge, or board members of arts organisations interested in diversifying their organisation’s income streams.
“This is a chance to connect with your peers and learn from Christina Chiam, the Creative Partnerships State Manager for NSW and ACT, who will provide local perspective, case studies and insights on how to implement what you’ve learned.”
