Parks ACT has announced that its Find a Park website has been upgraded, making the Territory’s 160,000 hectares of parks even easier to explore.

According to Parks ACT, the residents of Canberra love spending time outdoors and the new Find a Park search engine will allow them to search by district, activity or feature.

“The Australian Capital Territory has over 90 parks including Namadgi National Park, Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve, Canberra Nature Park and urban parks across Canberra,” Parks ACT said.

“Activities you can search include dog walking, disc golf, table tennis, birdwatching, cycling, swimming and many more,” it said.

“If you’re looking for a more relaxing park excursion, you can use the ‘features’ tab to search for parks with barbecues, cafés, lookouts and toilets.”

Parks ACT said individual parks had their own webpage with lists of things to do, available walking tracks and natural values.

“You can explore what you may see at that park, what is and isn’t allowed there and get the directions, all before leaving home.”

It said it had picked out a park in each region with a fun feature or activity, which could be searched on the website.

The chosen parks included those with activities including:- Table tennis at Moncrieff Community Recreational Park in Gungahlin; Walking and running at Mount Taylor Nature Reserve in Tuggeranong; Nature observation at Black Mountain Nature Reserve in Central; Disc golf at Eddison District Park in Woden, Weston Creek and Molonglo Valley; and Mountain biking in Bruce Ridge in Belconnen.
