The Western Australian Museum Boola Bardip has previewed its 2022 experiences including dinosaurs, a rabbit hole to Wonderland and travel beyond the Milky Way.
In a statement, the Museum said events across the year would range from celebrating Aboriginal stories through to national and international exhibitions to stretch the imagination through the use of immersive digital technologies.
“Beyond the Milky Way involves a 360-degree virtual reality film about the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) and the Universe,” it said.
“Visitors to Dinosaurs of Patagonia, which opens on 2 July, will experience the incredible size of titanosaurs and meet herbivores and carnivores from the Cretaceous, Jurassic and Triassic periods.
“Wonderland, which opens this week (17 December), celebrates the timeless stories of Lewis Carroll.
“Alice’s journey is explored through original picture books, magic lanterns and more than 40 moving images, film and television moments.”
Minister for Culture and the Arts, David Templeman said with world premieres and acclaimed international exhibitions, WA Museum Boola Bardip would showcase local creatives and national and international exhibitions.
“Starting this week, visitors can enjoy an incredible array of experiences, including immersive exhibitions, digital projections and a 360-degree virtual reality film about the SKA,” Mr Templeman said.
He urged people to start planning their 2022 Museum experiences now.
“The city and State are alive with creativity and there is something for everyone with both free and paid exhibitions at the museum,” Mr Templeman said.
