Kings Park and Botanic Garden is supporting WA Bike Month in October by urging cyclists to take to the paths traversing Kings Park’s extensive bushland.
In a statement, Kings Park and Botanic Garden said cycling brought many benefits, including physical and mental wellbeing.
“Taking a leisurely ride is a great way to appreciate the breadth of Kings Park’s great bushland,” it said.
“There are many designated shared paths and roads to take advantage of on your journey.
“The hard surface shared paths in Kings Park bushland to explore include the Western Path, Zamia Path, Goanna Path, Boomerang Path, Speargrass Path and Prionotes Path.”
The statement said bike racks were located in multiple places around Kings Park and Botanic Garden.
“If you don’t have your own bike, Spinway WA provides automated bike hire in Kings Park and Botanic Garden,” it said.
“Visitors can use a credit card to hire a standard size (adult) bicycle, with adjustable seat height and a helmet from an eight-bike kiosk located in the Wadjuk Carpark, opposite the Number 935 Transperth bus stop.”
Alternatively, it said GoGo Active Tours offered guided cycling tours including the Matilda Bay and Kings Park loop which covered 16 kilometres of beautiful riverfront and parkland landscapes.
Kings Park and Botanic Garden urged the public to adhere to cycling guidelines when riding in the Park.
