Australia and Cambodia have agreed to promote their bilateral cooperation on public administration reform.
During a recent meeting by the Australian Ambassador, Pablo Kang (pictured) and Cambodia’s Minister of Civil Service and recently appointed Chair of the Public Administration Reform Committee, Prum Sokha, Australia agreed to provide ongoing support for public service delivery to Cambodians.
According to the Ministry of Civil Service, the two sides discussed and agreed to further strengthen cooperation on public administration reform, including support for the National Program of Public Administration Reform of Cambodia; preparation of a draft law on the provision of public services; leadership training and innovation for civil servants; and job sustainability planning during the COVID-19 outbreak.
Mr Sokha thanked the Australian Government for assistance to Cambodia’s public health sector, especially in its fight against COVID-19, as well as the provision of scholarships to Cambodian students and civil servants to study in Australia.
Mr Kang and Mr Sokha expressed their strong belief that better cooperation in the Public Administration Reform Program would contribute to the development of mutually beneficial relations and cooperation for the Governments and peoples of both countries.
