The City Renewal Authority is to hold an information drop-in session in Braddon’s Haig Park this weekend to gauge community opinions on proposed plans for upgrading and improving the park.

Chief Executive of the authority, Malcolm Snow said the Haig Park Plan had been created to make the area safer, vibrant, accessible and a healthy place to visit and enjoy.

“It sets out actions to realise the community’s vision for Haig Park and is a great opportunity for those with an interest in the park’s future to share their feedback,” Mr Snow said.

“We’ve developed the plan based on extensive consultation. As we enter the implementation phase, we want to continue involving the community in park improvements so that it is a place for all of us.”

He said City Renewal Authority staff would be in Haig Park, near Lonsdale Street, Braddon from 10am to 1pm Sunday (5 August).

He said the staff will be offering free coffee or vouchers to local Braddon cafes to thank those who take part. There will also be lawn games and face painting.

“The plan will trial short term actions within the park to better understand what long term improvements can be made,” Mr Snow said.

For interested people unable to attend the drop-in session, feedback can be made online on the YourSay website at this PS News link.
