The State-owned enterprise Cenitex has released a disability action plan, aiming at positioning the organisation as a leader in the Victorian Public Service as far as inclusive employment practices for people with disability go.
Chief Executive of Cenitex, Frances Cawthra said its Dis/ability Action Plan (DAP) would provide a framework for the organisation to ensure an inclusive and disability equitable workplace.
“Inclusiveness is one of the key traits we want to see reflected through the Right Culture program,” Ms Cawthra said.
“The DAP will provide a framework for the organisation to ensure an inclusive and disability equitable workplace, it will strengthen people with disability’s advancement opportunities.”
She said Cenitex was committed to celebrating and advancing diversity, and fostering a workplace which was genuinely inclusive.
“It will strengthen people with disability’s advancement opportunities,” the Chief Executive said.
“A diverse workplace should reflect the community in which we live,” she said.
“Fostering a diverse workplace promotes innovation, problem solving, increased productivity and, for Cenitex, promotes a culture where we are positive and productive and everyone’s voice can be heard.”
Ms Cawthra said inclusiveness was one of the key traits the Organisation wanted to see reflected through its 1-3-5 Corporate Strategy: Right Culture, a whole-of-organisation plan released last year.
Stream Lead at Cenitex, Duane Whitlock said his team had worked together and consulted with staff and colleagues in the Victorian Public Service to develop the DAP to improve opportunities for people with disability.
