Tourism campaign bends over for Braddon

The City Renewal Authority (CRA) has partnered with VisitCanberra to encourage tourists to discover Braddon when they visit the ACT.

The Authority said the partnership would see the Agencies co-develop an extension to VisitCanberra’s successful more than destination campaign.

“Rather than developing a stand-alone visitor campaign the Authority is leveraging VisitCanberra’s current, evidence-based destination campaign, to effectively reach a much broader audience, more often, encouraging visitors to stay longer and experience more visitor missions,” the CRA said.

“Simply put by leveraging an existing campaign we’re aiming to achieve great outcomes for Braddon,” it said.

“Advertisements featuring Braddon will run on digital channels, social media, outdoor advertising and radio in key tourist markets from May to July.”

The CRA said the campaign would encourage young adults and families to include Braddon on their travel itineraries so they could discover boutiques, cafes, bakeries, restaurants, bars and an exciting variety of independent stores.

It said the campaign would reveal the unexpected layers the area had to offer.

“With a focus on domestic visitation, the campaign signals we’re open for business, showcases Braddon’s unique personality, and challenges existing perceptions of our destination,” it said.

“We need your help to spread the word so more people are aware of what Braddon has to offer when they visit Canberra.”

The Authority encouraged Canberrans to share the Braddon posts from VisitCanberra across social media; post photos of themselves at businesses in Braddon and tag VisitCanberra; and use the VisitCanberra GIPHY stickers on Instagram to connect their posts with the campaign.
