Enrolments for all students from preschool to Year 12 for the 2022 school year opened on Tuesday of this week (27 April).

The Education Directorate said that every ACT public school was a great school, and there was a place for every child.

“Get online to find your local school and discover what makes them great,” the Directorate said.

“Many schools are holding information sessions in the coming weeks, so go along to see what your local school has to offer.

“A series of information sessions are also being held on enrolment options and transition support for students with disability.”

The Directorate said that if a child turned four on or before 30 April, they could start preschool the first day of Term One that year.

It said every four-year-old was guaranteed 15 hours of high-quality preschool education a week.

“Canberra is a growing city, so the ACT Government have introduced some changes to Priority Enrolment Areas for 2022,” it said.

“This includes including new shared zones to support enrolment at schools in some high growth areas.”

The Directorate said people should apply to enrol by 4 June to get an offer by 26 July and applications made after 4 June would receive an offer later in the year.
