Sports framework onside for review

Sport and Recreation Victoria (SRV) is calling for feedback from the sport and active recreation sector to aid in refreshing its strategic framework.

SRV said its framework for sport and recreation in Victoria, Active Victoria, provided the vision and strategic directions that guided its activities and investment in the sector.

“This blueprint is set for an update to ensure that it reflects current community attitudes and expectations relating to participation in sport and active recreation,” SRV said.

“SRV recognises that many organisations contribute to sport and recreation outcomes across the State, and we would greatly value your contribution to the refresh of Active Victoria,” it said.

SRV said the refreshed framework would outline priorities for program and infrastructure planning and delivery to drive participation outcomes.

The Agency said its Discussion Paper, Active Victoria Refresh, was designed to prompt input on the consultation.

“A series of questions have also been developed to collect your feedback on the Discussion Paper; your responses to the questions will help to inform the development of the Active Victoria refresh,” it said.

“They will also provide an opportunity for you to reflect on how SRV can prioritise activities and investment to best support the sector.”

SRV said consultation would be open until 3 May and the refreshed framework was expected to be released in the second half of the year.

The Agency’s six-page Discussion Paper, including information on how to have a say, can be accessed at this PS News link.
