A five-week campaign titled It’s Playtime in the City has been launched by the City of Perth with the aim of encouraging children and adults to experience its many attractions and events.

Lord Mayor of Perth, Basil Zempilas said there were plenty of activities for bigger children and adults could get involved as well.

“From pop-up arcade games in Forrest Chase, Twilight Hawkers Markets in Yagan Square and the exciting launch of Wellington Square’s intergenerational park, it is all happening this month,” Mr Zempilas said.

“Perth is a vibrant and safe place to take the kids these holidays. You’ll be amazed with how many fun, unique and new activities are available for families over the April school holidays and all year round.”

He said there were expansive parklands to explore, and a picnic could be bought from any of the stores around Perth.

“For the adventurous families, there are lots to see and do along the Swan River and it is the last chance to really enjoy this wonderful Autumn weather,” Mr Zempilas said.

“Come out and explore our beautiful and historic buildings and take this opportunity to spend time at the new WA Museum Boola Bardip. In my opinion, it is one of the best museums in the world.”

He said Perth had been rebooted and there was so much to see and do.

“Since we can’t travel overseas just yet, why not take this opportunity to explore your own backyard and support your city,” the Lord Mayor said.
