The Department of Premier and Cabinet (DPC) has released new Circulars, setting out details of the salary increases and work-related allowances awarded to Crown Employees by the Industrial Relations Commission in December last year.
Secretary of DPC, Timothy Reardon (pictured) said the Circular, C2021-04 Crown Employees Wages Staff (Rates of Pay) Award 2020, applied to all Agencies that employed staff under the Crown Employees Wages Staff (Rates of Pay) Award 2020.
“On 21 January 2021, the IRC made the Crown Employees Wages Staff (Rates of Pay) Award 2020 providing increases in wages and wage related allowances of 0.3 per cent for one year from the commencement of the first full pay period on or after 1 July 2020,” Mr Reardon said.
“Agencies should process the adjustments to wages and allowances in accordance with the attached schedule for employees,” he said.
Mr Reardon said Circular C2021-03 Meal, Travelling and Other Allowances for 2020-21 replaced the previous DPC Circular C2019-03 Meal, Travelling and other Allowances for 2019-20.
“Various expense and work-related allowances in the Crown Employees (Public Service Conditions of Employment) Reviewed Award 2009 are adjusted annually,” he said.
“Agencies should process payments for meal, travelling and other allowances in accordance with the rates set out in the Circular with effect from 1 July 2020,” he said.
Mr Reardon said some meal, travel and related allowances had been increased, effective from 1 July 2020 with some work-related allowances, such as being on-call and flying, increased by 0.3 per cent, also effective from 1 July 2020.
