Applications for the first round of graduates to join the Victorian Public Service in the year ahead have been invited.

The Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions has launched the Victorian Government Graduate Program, saying it would be open until 29 March for recent or soon-to-be graduates interested in taking on Government work.

“The Victorian Government Graduate Program is designed to provide graduates with the broad experiences, capabilities and support needed to establish meaningful public service careers through a comprehensive 12-month learning and development journey,” the Department said.

“The Program offers employment streams tailored to what you studied at university, and graduate pathways if you’re an applicant with a disability or identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander,” it said.

“In most streams, you’ll work in three different Departments over 12 months.”

The Department said the Round One streams within the Program included Generalist, with a minimum of an undergraduate degree in any field of study; Accounting and Finance, for graduates who majored in accounting or finance; Economic Consultancy, for graduates who majored in economics or econometrics; and Data Analytics, for graduates who majored or had experience in data analytics, mathematics, statistics, modelling or computer science.

It said the Round Two Program streams would be announced in the middle of the year.
