Tourist plan to Stay, Play and Save extended

Tourism WA has announced that the booking period for its Stay, Play and Save campaign involving cut-price holidaying in hotels in the Perth region has been extended by another two weeks.

The program offers $200 discount when a visitor spends at least $400 for a minimum two-night stay from Sunday to Thursday at a participating hotel.

Acting Managing Director of Tourism WA, Derryn Belford said it was great to see so many people getting behind the plan to help the hotel industry recover from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“In the first weekend, four hotels had sold out of their Stay, Play and Save deal, and in the past week, others have done the same, or are very close,” Ms Belford said.

“We know the lockdown and travel restrictions have had an impact, with some people unable to make the most of their mid-week stay in the Perth region.”

She said that as a result, the booking period was being extended to make sure as many people as possible could access the deal while it was still available.

“There’s no better time than now to book a staycation and explore what’s on. From Fringe World to the Perth Festival, outdoor markets to rooftop movies, or the WA Museum Boola Bardip, there really is something for everyone to enjoy,” Ms Belford said.

“Bookings are now being taken until 5 March (unless sold out prior), with travel anytime (Sunday to Thursday) until the end of April,” Ms Belford said.

Bookings can be made direct with participating hotels, via the Destination Perth website at this PS News link.
