Local tourism just the ticket

VisitCanberra has launched a new destination marketing platform to help inform the region’s tourism for the next three to five years.

The Agency said the new platform was more than just an advertising campaign inasmuch as it would inform the region’s communication activity, partnerships and sponsorships for the next three to five years

“Its premise is simple: the more than campaign reveals the unexpected layers that Canberra has to offer,” VisitCanberra said.

“The perfect place for invigoration and relaxation – a weekend away here can deliver diverse experiences that exceed expectations,” it said.

“Our region offers a place to recharge in a safe and accessible environment and, once they’re here, visitors will find more than they came for.”

The Agency said the campaign was focused on domestic visitation and signalled to the rest of Australia that Canberra was open for business

It said the campaign showcased Canberra’s unique personality, and challenged existing perceptions of the ACT.

“Phase One of the more than campaign advertising has now launched through digital media, targeting Canberrans to dig a bit deeper and explore their city, along with inviting audiences in regional New South Wales, Adelaide, and Queensland to experience Canberra,” it said.

“As public health restrictions ease, this dynamic campaign will move into additional interstate target markets including metro Sydney and Victoria.”

VisitCanberra invited visitors and Canberra locals to get involved with the new platform.
