Floriade’s annual NightFest for this year has been reimagined as Canberra’s biggest ‘Night-Feast’ as a way for the community to support the city’s local restaurants and eateries.
Chief Minister and Minister for Tourism and Special Events, Andrew Barr said that for one night only, the NightFest would offer Canberrans the best that local restaurants and eateries across the capital had to offer.
“On Friday 2 October 2020, Canberrans can join in the Territory-wide feast by booking a meal at a participating eatery or ordering an at-home NightFest experience,” Mr Barr said.
“Foodies can enjoy a blooming pink gin from Underground Spirits, ice-cream from Frugii, seasonal flavours from Poacher’s Pantry and more,” he said.
“NightFest will connect Canberrans through a shared celebration of Canberra’s great food scene during a time when our local business need all the support they can get.”
Mr Barr said that each local purchase would go a long way to helping not only that neighbourhood business, but also their team, suppliers, growers, families and more.
Floriade said Canberra’s big NightFeast wouldn’t be complete without the treats that NightFest was famous for – entertainment and lights.
“Canberrans ordering spring-inspired meals straight to their front door can enjoy dinner and a show with fun-sized NightFest activities,” Floriade said in a statement.
“Try your hand at making one of the festival’s signature lanterns and enjoy a curated Spotify playlist featuring artists from past festivals to bring a taste of NightFest into your home,” it said.
