The Indonesian Government has abandoned recruitment into the country’s Public Service until 2022.
Minister for Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform, Tjahjo Kumolo said admissions were closed this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mr Tjahjo said that while preliminary processes for this year’s intake had been completed before the pandemic struck, interviews and examinations had not taken place.
“There is a possibility of some recruitment next year, depending on the Government Budget and the needs of Agencies, but there will be no mass entry,” Mr Tjahjo said.
Meanwhile, the National Police Traffic Corps has made it possible for the public to apply for an international driver’s licence online, avoiding physical contact amid COVID-19 concerns.
In a statement, the Corps said applicants will no longer be required to be physically present at the National Police Traffic Corps office as they will have the option to have their international driver’s licence delivered directly to their home.
“The Corps has adapted to the new normal, no longer requiring applicants to visit the Traffic Corps’ International Driver’s Licence Unit,” the statement said.
“If every requirement is fulfilled, our officers will print the international driver’s licence and have it ready for pick-up in accordance with the applicant’s preferred delivery method,” it said.
