ABC changes London Bureau
Two new correspondents have been appointed to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation’s London bureau.
Samantha Hawley (pictured) has been named Bureau Chief and Linton Besser becomes one of the Europe correspondents.
Ms Hawley replaces Lisa Millar, who leaves the Bureau Chief post in September after three years. Mr Besser will take over from Steve Cannane.
New face for film and TV Council
Peter Tonagh has been appointed a member of the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS) Council for three years.
Mr Tonagh is currently the non-executive Chair of Bus Stop Films Limited, a charitable organisation focusing on inclusion in the film industry.
He has also served as Chief Executive of Foxtel Management.
AFTRS is Australia’s training institution for the screen and broadcast industries.
New term for skills Chair
John Pollaers has been reappointed Chair of the Australian Industry and Skills Committee (AISC) and Tara Diamond reappointed as the Commonwealth representative.
Professor Pollaers has a strong record of leading major Australian and international companies, including Pacific Brand and Foster’s Group.
Ms Diamond is Director, Industry Services with Australian Resources and Energy Group, AMMA.
