ACT Health is continuing contact tracing for new COVID-19 cases, with five new cases taking the ACT’s total yesterday (25 March) to 44.
“The new cases were aged between 23 and 73, ACT Health said.
“ACT Health is undertaking thorough contact tracing but can confirm that four of the cases are linked to overseas travel, including cruise ships, and one is a close contact of a confirmed case,” it said.
“There is currently no evidence of community transmission in the ACT.”
It said contact tracing was also under way to identify a number of people who travelled on public transport with one of the previous confirmed ACT cases.
“Passengers on the number 31 bus from Dickson Interchange to Kaleen, departing Dickson at approximately 3.50pm on Tuesday, 17 March should self-quarantine until 31 March and should contact the Communicable Disease Control Section of ACT Health on 5124 9213 for more information,” it said.
“This bus was scheduled to leave Dickson interchange at 3.33pm but was running late and departed at 3.50pm.”
It said flight details related to new cases would be uploaded onto the ACT Health website at www.health.act.gov.au as soon as possible.
It said there had been 2,964 negative COVID-19 tests in the ACT to date.
“There are currently three COVID-19 patients in Canberra hospitals,” ACT Health said yesterday.
“The rest are isolating at home with ACT Health support.”
ACT Health said it was continuing to take appropriate public health action in line with national guidelines.
