Access Canberra has released an ACT Wellbeing Framework with the aim of providing ratings information on the liveability of Canberra to feed into Government policy and budget planning processes.
Announcing the Framework, Chief Minister, Andrew Barr said the planning initiative would include ratings from Canberrans about the environment, health, housing, economy identity and social connection.
“We are more than an economy,” Mr Barr said, “We are an inclusive, vibrant and caring community where we aim for everyone to share in the benefits of a good life both now and in the future.”
“That is why we have worked with Canberrans to develop ACT’s first ever Wellbeing Framework.”
He said the ACT Wellbeing Framework was made up of 12 domains “that matter most to Canberrans” when considering their quality of life.
“Our domains include the environment and climate, health, education and life-long learning,” Mr Barr said.
He said the Framework would inform Government priorities, policies and investment decisions, including through input into future annual Budget processes.
“The Government will use reporting from the Framework to help inform Budget priority areas,” Mr Barr said.
“I would like to thank the many Canberrans, organisations, stakeholders and subject matter experts who contributed to the development of the Framework.”
He said indicator information and data from the Framework would be released in the second half of 2020.
